FBC Solutions Online Learning Center

Training and resources for the visually impaired. Anytime, Anywhere.

Our course lessons are divided into simple short to understand modules to make learning easy. The following is an example of a module from an MS-Word lesson.

Creating a new document in MS-Word

When you launch MS Word, a new, blank document will be displayed in the document window. You can create another blank document at any time. The procedure below describes two ways to create a new document.

To create a new, blank document
  • Press CTRL + N. A new, blank document will be displayed. You can now enter text and name and save the file.
    Alternate process:
  1. Press ALT + F, then N. The task pane will be displayed and focus will be on the first option (New).
  2. Press ENTER to close the task pane and create a new, blank document.

NOTE: The task pane allows you to select the type of document you want to create and is also where you would search for other templates to use. We will discuss the task pane and templates in the more advanced training modules for MS Word.
