What are Instructor-moderated Courses?

Description

Instructor moderated courses are provided one-on-one and in small groups. Students join us on-line where we can talk to them, they to us, and to one another. It's similar to being on a conference call. We call it the virtual classroom.

Classes are held at regularly scheduled times. The instructor covers the material, gives time for practice and opportunity to ask questions. During the course, students will be given quizzes and projects to complete. At the end of the course, a project is assigned and a final examination given. To complete the course successfully, students are required to complete and turn in the final project and pass the examination with a score of 80% or greater.

Required equipment

All students will need a computer configured and able to connect to the internet. The student will also need to have Microsoft Office 2003, Internet Explorer version 6, appropriate assistive technology product(s), speakers, and a microphone installed and opperable. Students should also have Microsoft Outlook configured as the default e-mail program and set to send/receive messages from the address given as part of the FBC Online registration information

How to get started

If you haven't already, you need to register with FBC On-line. If you have already registered, just log in and enroll in the class you wish to take. Once approved, you will recieve an e-mail message letting you know the date and time of the firrst class. The message will be sent to the address you provided when you registered at FBC Online.
